Function Description
American Express Global Commercial Services (GCS) is the leading payment card issuer for businesses in the United States and various international markets and supports business owners and companies with products and services to help them run and grow their businesses. Operational Excellence at American Express is a comprehensive and integrated program designed to identify, measure, report, monitor and control operational risk exposures of various business processes. It supports business units in meeting all relevant operational risk, regulatory and compliance requirements.
GCS Operational Excellence, India COE is setting up a Reporting and Analytics team that aims to build capabilities as well as subject matter expertise on all Control and Compliance reporting requirements for GCS LOB. This team will also support other teams within GCS OE by providing insights, themes on key areas of focus using data analytics. Senior Manager – Reporting and Analytics will play a vital role in setting-up a strong team that builds on a Reporting center of Excellence mindset as well as supporting strategic priorities within Reporting and Analytics.
Responsibilities
Creation and Management of business-critical reporting capabilities against Compliance & Compliance metrics for GCS to support management’s awareness and response to control improvements.
Own Control and Compliance dashboards published at monthly / quarterly frequency to GCS SLT.
Evaluate current reporting to identify opportunities to drive automation, eliminate redundancies, and address reporting gaps.
Create reporting tools that support strategic priorities and continuous process improvement, focused on Control and Compliance Metrics for GCS.
Support creation of data management capabilities that enable data analytics and support other OE teams with insights/ trend reporting on specific areas and early warning indicators.
Consistently deliver all key reporting packages to leadership, including themes and insights from sub-programs managed within GCS OE organization.
Partner with various teams to optimize alignment of best practice and understand/deliver on shared objectives.
Ensure timeliness and accuracy of data in various monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc dashboards published to Senior leadership teams within GCS and other teams within the OE organization.
Lead a smally team of Analysts for managing the operations and scale up reporting framework and enhance capabilities.

Data Insights: Provide independent assessment of OE Program Data and Control and Compliance metrics to senior leaders.
Forward Thinking: Enable smart technology solutions to manual data manipulation activities and enable availability of reporting with least manual intervention.
Consistency in Delivery: Able to thrive in a matrix organization that involves multiple sub teams as well be able deliver on reporting requirements to senior leaders in time.

Qualifications
Past Experience:
5-7 years of experience in Risk management, Data Analytics, Dashboard storytelling.
Experience in financial services and risk management preferred.
Academic Background:
Functional Skills/Capabilities:
Knowledge of risk management and key risk metrics.
Qualitative solutioning /Problem solving in complex & unstructured environment.
Highly detail oriented.
Ability to conduct comprehensive analysis and elevate key risk outcomes from the analysis.
Partner management skills.
Strong analytical skills, ability to interpret data and understand complex processes with the goal to provide meaningful insights to inform business strategy.
Able to effectively adapt under changing conditions and prioritize initiatives in a fast-paced complex environment.
Technical Skills/Capabilities:
Programming expertise in Data Transformation using Python and/or Hive.
Experience working in Tableau Desktop (Advanced Reporting/Power BI) and Database Management (through SQL).
Experience in application of Statistical Techniques, advanced Microsoft Excel skills maintaining VBA/macro-based solutions are essential.
