Cno’s it team is hiring an agile program manager who is interested in growing their agile leadership development alongside of cno’s agile transformationThis role will serve as a recognized servant leader and subject matter expert of agile methodologies and program management across the cno enterpriseThis role will be primarily responsible and accountable for leading a highly complex agile release train (art), which is a team of agile teams working towards a common business objectAn art will typically span 12+ months and entail very large resource requirements, high risk and complexity, with high cno enterprise impact and visibility.
This is your opportunity to provide significant input into the overall objectives that the art is expected to deliver on and successfully execute on the deliveryThis role will be responsible for planning the work of teams, as well as uncovering and resolving cross functional team dependency issuesYou will integrate the work of the art and frequently communicate with senior management stakeholders and significantly influence and advise executives on art status, risk mitigation strategies, etc.
As an agile program manager, your responsibilities will include:
Overseeing, managing, and optimizing the flow of value through a highly complex art using various tools, such as the program and solution kanbans and other information radiators.
Providing significant input into the overall objectives that the art is expected to deliver on and successfully execute on the deliveryEstablishes, tracks, and reports on metrics for the art.
Being accountable and responsible for planning the work of teams; highly effective at resource planning and defining staffing needs; establishes and communicates the annual calendars for iterations and program increments (pis), which are fixed development timelines of approximately 10 weeks.
Leading and facilitating pi planning readiness by fostering a continuous exploration process which drives the synthesis of a vision, a roadmap, and backlogs, and through pre- and post-pi planning meetings.
Summarizing team pi objectives into program pi objectives and publishes them for visibility and transparency.
Having substantial impact on the short-term success (1-3 years) of large development programs.
Mitigating issues, risks, and dependencies at multiple levelsServes as an escalation resource for art impediments.
Providing significant input on resourcing to address critical bottlenecks.
Often interacting with other major it subfunctions (i.e., application development, it strategy and operations) and influencing their respective leaders.
Frequently partnering and collaborating with product management, product owners, and other stakeholders to help ensure strategy and execution alignment.
Improving the flow of value through value streams by improving and assessing the practices associated with devops and release on demand in the continuous delivery pipeline.
The agile program manager position is well-suited for you if you:
Drive and lead economic decision-making by facilitating feature and capability estimation by teams and the roll-up to epics, where necessary.
Coach leaders, teams, and scrum masters in several lean-agile practices, principles, and methodologies.
Demonstrate expert knowledge and mastery of multiple agile frameworks, principles, and methodologies, including but not limited to scrum, kanban, xp, etc.)
Have a proven ability to lead projects with large resource requirements, risk, and complexity.
Operate with broad limits of authority on the most technical and complex assignments.
Have flexibility and patience to incorporate non agile processes (e.g., governance, funding, date commitments) into delivery.
Qualified candidates will have:
Bachelor’s degree in business, it related field, or equivalent is requiredMaster’s degree preferred.
Scrum master certification (csm, psm, acp) and other scaled agile framework (safe) certifications (safe po/pm, safe advanced scrum master, safe program consultant (spc)) is required.
At least 5 years of experience leading/coaching/mentoring in agile principles and frameworks.
Proven experience leading scrum/agile teamsCoaching certificate highly preferred.
