Job Summary
Utilizes experience of engineering drawing fundamentals, CAD tools and GD&T to create complex 3D models and drawings. Knowledge of Pro-E is preferred.
Utilizes understanding of manufacturing processes to improve new and existing designs & acts as a technical resource for internal stakeholders and resolve technical challenges
Execute proto-type build, performance / durability testing, teardown of proto-type samples to evaluate product performance against customer requirements for concept level ideas as well as detailed design before product launch
Collaborate with cross functional team for successful execution of product design across all stages of product development process per PRO-Launch
Maintain credible communication practice with internal stakeholders and project team on technical clarifications, testing & resolving of field failures
Under guidance from project leader utilize DFSS concepts / tools such as PDSC, P-Diagram, DFMEA, Risk Management & DVPR for new product development &/or existing product improvements, GB certified candidate preferred.e with cross functional team for successful execution of product design across all stages of product development process per PRO-Launch
Job Responsibilites
The primary responsibility of this role is to mechanical design and develop power electronic components and systems to meet customer specific technical, cost and market related technology requirement of Commercial & Passenger car applications.
Applicant shall have experience in design, development and validation of electric vehicle components and systems for automotive OEMs.
Applicant must be proficient with performing analytical design calculations, good understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack up analysis, electro-Mechanical design calculation, thermal management of electro-mechanical components and manufacturing methods involving casting, forging, sheet-metal components & Plastic injection molding.
Candidate should have knowledge of automotive market, technology trends in electric vehicle in commercial & passenger vehicle segment.
Candidate should be able to participate in defining engineering requirements by understanding customer voice and application.
The candidate must be self-motivated and possess good communication skills with cross functional team namely engineering, manufacturing, project management, marketing and supply chain.
Qualifications
Requirement:
BE/BS in Mechanical or related engineering area with 8+ years or ME/M.Tech in Mechanical or related engineering area with 6+ years of engineering/product design experience in relevant domain.
10+ years with BE/BS & 6+ years expirence with ME / MS.
Proven track record in engineering Design, Analysis, R&D, application engineering domain.
Knowledge about Electro – Mechanical product design, electric vehicle architecture, thermal management of electronic products & design evaluation criteria for electronic design.
Experience in handling Design for Manufacturing, DFMEA & DVPR
Experience in projects involving significant amount of CAD, FEA, CFD & System modeling along with exposure to PLM softwares like ENOVIA
Excellent English communication (oral and written) and presentation skills
Team player with highly effective interpersonal skills
Experience in handling direct / indirect project leadership role
Work & interact with global cross-functional and cross-cultural team. Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to clearly communicate to internal/external customers and suppliers.
