Job description
Essential responsibilities
Lead technical aspects of proposal development in ito (inquiry to order) phase as a member of the commercial operations team which requires local internal interface with sales and commercial roles as well as remote internal interfaces with technical specialist support functions;
Provide project-based leadership of the ito technical team (which is a virtual global team) including wind resource assessment, application engineering, product engineering, balance of plant (bop) engineering and all other technical disciplines necessary for proposals;
Function as the accountable commercial operations resource for ensuring high quality, well defined, fully-costed technical proposals, which help position ge renewable energy to win profitable and executable orders;
Own the technical analysis of customer inquiries, requests for quotations (rfq) or tenders to determine proposal requirements, technical deviations, scope of supply definition, in order for the commercial operations team to develop to successful and profitable customer proposals;
Provide support to the sales and commercial leaders in closing orders at any stage in ito by providing technical expertise and timely response to customer requirements within / across segments, and where required operate as point of customer contact during early stage sales process as part of site optimization/wind engineering work;
Take initiative for proposal cycle time reduction, proposal quality improvement and technical risk analysis optimization;
Lead technical participation in the relevant risk management processes and meetings;
Lead technical handover to order to remittance (otr) responsible for delivering the project, including customer kick-off, first project review, etcAs applicable;
Participate in broad commercial operations team processes, trainings and growth initiatives as requested by commercial director.
Qualifications/requirements
Strong technical expertise, ideally in the renewable energy industry, including wind resources assessment, wind turbine products, wind project basics
Demonstrated business / commercial acumen
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem solving abilities
Relevant professional experience in proposals/bid preparation and contract negotiation
Bachelor degree in engineering, masters degree in engineering is a plus
Ability to perform effectively in a non-hierarchical, team type environment.
Ability to travel across the south-east asia region.
Fluency in english
