Your Role and Responsibilities
You, as a ‘Brand Technical Specialist’, are responsible for developing specific IBM server solutions that address client’s business needs (both industry and business) and deliver client value while supporting IBMs Systems Hardware specific business strategies by selling IBM Server Hybrid-Cloud (Power Systems) to enterprise and commercial accounts. You will need to build and provide critical resources needed to develop the best solution for the client. Applying IBM brand strategies and offerings, methods, and models, to ensure world-class design and delivery for some of the world’s most creative IT and business solutions. You will actively engage clients, establishing trust and credibility in our ability to help them grow their businesses. Solving strategic and tactical business problems with IBM confirmed technology solutions.
You will work with Market Server Sales Team to develop and implement specific account penetration strategies.
Be able to present the IBM technical vision and offering strategy to across the solution offering to all levels across the customer internally and externally e.g. technical or business leads.
Own the delivery of technical briefings for solutions and/products for external and internal customers/partners including proof of concepts/demonstrations when required
Conducts research, answers questions and helps to handle objections that arise during the sales process
Is a technical expert and consultant that helps to develop and propose solutions that meet the technology and business requirements of clients
Serves as a trusted technology advisor to clients and serves as an internal resource on technical issues or specific business applications
Maintain product/solution expertise of market trends in aligned technology including detailed understanding of the competition
Qualifies sales opportunities in the terms of customer technical requirements, competition, decision making process and funding
Successfully builds relationships with the account team, partners and customers in support of sales team objectives and engages and leverages corporate resources and abilities
Engage in social media / digital marketing awareness efforts around IBM Server portfolio and thought leadership
Social media engagement
Ability to provide competitive responses in the field of Server solutions
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Experience in Virtualization Technologies (IBM PowerVM, KVM, RedHat Virtualization (RHV))
Experience in Containers, Kubernetes, RedHat OpenShift technologies
Experience working with infrastructure automation products such as Ansible
Experience in IBM Power Servers, VIOS and LPARs
Experience in AIX, Linux on Power (Redhat/SLES/Ubuntu)
Experience in Server networking (Linux, AIX)
Good knowledge in cloud concepts (Public/Private/Hybrid)
Experience in Performance analysis and sizing concepts
Experience in HA and DR technologies
Good Communication Skills both written and Verbal
Overall experience of more than 7 Years in the AIX/Linux Domain
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
BA or equivalent preferably in Technical or Business field
Experience in customer service/support, consulting, and/or technical pre-sales
A passion for customer service and relationship building
Desire to thrive in a fast-paced, constantly changing, results-driven work environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Technical Aptitude to understand the IBM Storage portfolio
