Your Role and Responsibilities

• Drive project pipelines, solution design and overall implementation of infrastructure and applications primarily across Azure SQL databases using DataOps methodologies.

• Uplift and deliver Microsoft Azure platform foundations.

• Provide infrastructure and automation expertise across data platforms, stored procedures, functions and configure, test and implement appropriate servers including Azure SQL Server, Managed Instances and SQL Server on Azure VM’s (PaaS).

• Deliver solutions with a real mind for Automation scripting.

• Support heavy data warehousing including manipulation, migration & integration. Transform data into seamless formatting that can be easily analysed for all parties including clients.

• Support and develop end-to-end data analytics and BI solutions, including Azure Synapse, Azure Data Factory, Data Warehousing, Databricks, Data Modelling, and Reporting using Microsoft technologies in Cloud environments (Azure).

• Be part of a thriving hands-on, collaborative and highly technical Data and AI squad.

• Support in-house and external engineers with data platform configuration used for data ingestion, manipulation, extraction, and cleansing (using technologies such as Azure Data factory).

• Contribute to the growth of existing capabilities of our internal business practices and remain collaborative in your overall technical business fit.

• Contribute to the overall Data & AI practice growth as we continue to scale and develop as a company.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a Data Engineer role working on Azure Data platforms.

• Azure Database and Platform skills – Microsoft frameworks (Cloud-based analytics)

• Experience working in a CI/CD data environment with tools or processes such as Azure DevOps, Terraform, PowerShell, GitHub, YAML, Jenkins, ETL, Power BI (Dashboards) or Scorecards & Reporting

• Experience with migration of on-prem services into Azure cloud platforms. This includes procedure coding to Azure SQL, Testing and verification, using PowerShell, Azure CLI and Ansible

• Experience provisioning, modifying, deprovisioning, supporting and managing complex Microsoft PaaS SQL Server databases as well as high availability environments that include SQL clusters, Always On and Availability Groups.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience

• Extensive experience designing patterns across Azure Data Factory or Azure Synapse, Azure Data Warehousing, Data Lakes and App Insights

• Strong knowledge in conventional Microsoft BI technologies such as SSIS | SSRS | SSAS and traditional DBA systems.

• Experience in Azure Databricks, Big Data – desirable

• Experience in the creation, deployment, support, and management of complex AI and IoT Solutions – desirable

• Other technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Python, Scala, Impala & R – desirable

• DataOps & IoT Hub – desirable
