Job Description
Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc.
As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. You will be responsible for defining and developing software for tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications or operating systems.
Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 7 years of software engineering or related experience.
Responsibilities
As an integral part of the development team, you will be responsible for the following –
Understanding the requirements from the Functional Team
Transforming the business requirements to Technical Design (high level and low-level) using the ideal design patterns
Performance tuning for high throughput
Estimating the development efforts
Developing the code that aligns to the technical design and coding standards.
Mentoring juniors and conducting Peer-Code Reviews for early detection of defects and code quality
Using appropriate methods and tools to build and measure code quality
Support the testing phase (System Testing, SIT, UAT, Non-Regression Testing) and ensure quick turnaround of defect fixes
You will be responsible for applying your extensive knowledge of designing technical solution based on business requirements using the best design patterns towards moving the banking product towards a modern componentized, cloud ready offering. Industry Standards on Code Performance, Scalability, Security and Reliability are key areas to be taken care during Design. You would be responsible for all aspects of the development life cycle viz., design, development and release, and supporting the team during production implementation.
Your Qualifications
Engineering in Computer Science, Electrical / Electronic or Telecommunication from leading technology institutes
Minimum CGPA of 7 at all levels of education (including 10th, 12th and above)
Experience
8-10 years in software development
Should have worked in a product company
Should have atleast 3-4 years continuous work experience in any organization
Worked on development of the same product or project for three or more years
In the current company for at least three years
Technology
Strong knowledge in Core Java, J2EE, Advanced Java Design patterns
Ability to create designs considering performance and scalability aspects of application
Should have OOAD and UML based design experience as an individual contributor
Strong knowledge in Java/J2EE, Microservices, Design Patterns, ORM, Databases.
Hands-on development experience in implementing APIs using Java-J2EE, JAX-RS – Java API for RESTful Web Service
Strong Web Application concepts, JSON, YAML
Experience in SOA/BPEL will be added advantage
Other skills
Experience in product development
Willingness to quickly learn and adapt with new technical skills and functional domains.
Effective communication skills in order to collaborate with various stakeholders while solving complex product business requirements.
Guide and mentor junior developers in development and debugging.
Exposure to automated unit testing frameworks
Self-drive to learn new technology
Desire to get upskilled to latest in technologies and implement them in the project.
Nice to have
Experience in Banking domain
Exposure to Agile methodologies
