The Role
An experienced coach to help transition our existing work practices to a full embrace of agile methodology, from the top down. The agile coach will mentor and guide our employees in how to figure out the best solutions for their specific departmental challenges. This person will analyze our organization’s existing agile practices and implement improvements to help streamline processes and create efficiencies. Will be responsible for suggesting organizations’ policies to support Agile ways of working. Train teams in Scrum, Kanban, SAFe and educate them on dealing with any cultural shifts the project may cause. Ultimately, the agile coach will play a key role in long-term strategy across the business, helping our teams deliver better products in a faster, more efficient manner.
Job Responsibilities:
Work with project teams to analyze current systems and processes and design a strategy for adopting agile best practices
Guide teams in how to stay on track with agile techniques, fine-tuning their approach to ensure that overall strategy is being met
Lead agile workshops for developer and functional teams, as well as for key stakeholders
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, setting goals and milestones and assigning responsibility
Drive cultural change by championing an agile mindset, and ensure the organization is adhering to industry best practices
Coach Scrum Masters and Product Owners
Identify relevant metrics and define the measurement system
Apply system thinking to uncover bottlenecks
Improve engagement between teams and stakeholders
Setup regular audits for measuring process readiness and adherence
Identify project risks
Assist scrum masters with meeting pre-planning, scheduling, daily scrum, and review
Assist Product Owners in crafting user stories, if needed
Mentor Product Owners in daily decisions to keep the project in motion
Empower managers to partner with business stakeholders and make more strategic decisions
Cultivate an Agile mindset so that every team member can approach problems
Instruct teams on the basics of Agile tools, like Scrum and Kanban
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in Communications, Operations, Business, or Technology
3 or more years of experience as agile coach
Experience in using scrum, kanban, and scaled agile framework (SAFe)
Track record of implementing agile techniques in different work cultures and environments
Experience in running agile projects of varying size and complexity
Strong skills for leading, educating, and coaching
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Team player who understands people’s concerns
