This is a work from home opportunity open to candidates living in kentucky and soIndianaPurpose under general supervision, assists the payroll manager and srPayroll specialist in processing biweekly payroll for approximately 1,500 employees, including reconciling and balancing all employee withholding accounts (e.g., retirement, health insurance, and dental insurance), maintaining employee payroll records, and answering employees` payroll-related questionsEssential job functions assists in processing biweekly payrolls with a focus on the bellewood brooklawn populationAssists with timesheet audits and working with employees/supervisors to obtain missing information and answer questions as neededAssists in the auditing, reconciling, and balancing of payroll related information and resolving any discrepancies for the organizationProvides exemplary and timely customer service to employees by answering both incoming calls and emails regarding payroll issuesResponds to requests for employee/payroll information from lender/financial institutions, department for social services, and retirement plansProcesses and monitors garnishments, tax levies, child support orders, etcAssist in w2 processingSupports and acts as back up to srPayroll specialistMaintains company and employee data files related to all payroll processes and documentationAssists as needed in developing new payroll office proceduresAssists in implementation of all payroll systems and programsOpens and distributes all payroll-related mailPerforms as needed other general administrative duties such as typing, filing, photocopying, scanning, faxing, and running reports to assist the payroll managerOther duties as assignedThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this jobIncumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this descriptionEducation
Up to 18 months of education or training beyond the high school level in payroll, accounting, or related field.
Experience
Over three and up to four years’ progressive payroll experience.
Strong knowledge of payroll tax and wage/hour statutes and regulations.
General accounting knowledge, including knowledge in payroll accounting.
Ability to operate a personal computer with basic computer literacy.
Basic microsoft office skills including ability to increasingly learn excel functions.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to work well with all personality types and work under pressure with regards to deadlines.
Physical demands
Typical office environment.
Position has no unusual physical demands but may require lifting objects weighing up to ten pounds.
Occasional minor discomforts from continual exposure to video display terminals.
