About the job
This position is needed for building the next-generation platform for Twilio Segment Infrastructure. In this role, you will be responsible for leading and growing a team of talented infrastructure software engineers and collaborating with product engineering leaders to ship features that form the foundation of a strong Customer Data Platform. You’ll also be responsible for mentoring, sharing knowledge, and guiding the technical decisions of the team to set us up for long-term success, both as a product and as a team.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:
Driving the roadmap and execution of the Infrastructure Engineering team within the Segment Infrastructure organization.
Lead the team execution through agile methodologies and help employee’s career development, coaching, and mentoring while guiding senior contributors to maximize their potential
Provide a clear path for progression through personal development plans, defining goals, perform evaluations, and collaborate with employees on their objectives
Own, develop, operate, and maintain a highly available observability platform for Twilio engineers
Be the voice of the platform users by creating a culture of user empathy
Foster an engineering-driven culture upholding a high bar for technical excellence

Required:
3+ years of experience as an engineering leader of a high-performing engineering team
Experience driving large-scale platform projects
Hands-on capability, and detailed knowledge of metrics, logging, tracing, profiling, alerting, and visualization systems with technical deep-dives into code and designing high availability systems
Detailed understanding of site reliability engineering practices & culture
Strong experience in Cloud Engineering & technologies like AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Kafka
CS, EE, or CE degree and/or a demonstrable, solid understanding of CS fundamentals
Desired:
Previous experience building a large-scale Infrastructure platform especially on AWS/GCP
Demonstrated open source contributions and/or deep knowledge of open source technologies
Strong system engineering knowledge in distributed systems
Location
This role will be based in our Bengaluru, India office.
