Duties Basic Function of the Position: The incumbent serve as Safety Program Coordinator/ Compliance Officer with responsibility for assisting the Post Occupational Safety and Health Officer (POSHO)in carrying out the day to day functions of the Safety and Health Environmental Management (SHEM) and Fire Protection Division (FIR) programs at the Embassy as required. S/he assures that all government owned and leased property meets the requirements as required. S/he will conduct numerous safety surveys, prepare reports and conduct follow up inspections to ensure compliance. S/he will maintain a statistical database and hazardous materials inventory. S/he will act as the Post fire warden and organize, assist Post Fire Marshals in executing fire drills, investigates and reports to Washington on fires at the Embassy. S/he will correct all infractions found by OBO/SHEM, OBO/FIR, AIS and other investigations. S/he will responsible for the Mission pest control and serve as the contracting office representative (COR) on the pesticide application contract. S/he will report to the Senior Facilities Manager through the American A/POSHO and sits as a member of the Post’s Safety, Health, and Environmental Management Committee. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE:
The position requires three years experience as an Industrial Hygienist or in maintenance field performing/coordinating repairs of large facilities, or in the field of occupational safety, health and environmental management.

Education Requirements:
The position requires completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Hygiene or Bachelors in Technology or Engineering degree in the following fields: Environmental Safety or Environmental Planning or Resource Management or Environmental Sciences or Environmental Law or Ecology or Environment and Sustainable Development.
Indicate on the qualifications questionnaire all the education details as relevant for the position (Bachelor’s and/or higher for this vacancy). (Your answer should also let us know if you have completed Class X or XII or any other degree or vocational courses. Also, please specify the name of the Certificate/Degree/Diploma course and the major subjects for each qualification you possess.)

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.
