Position Description: Vocera is looking for a hardworking Manager with a breadth of knowledge in system integrations, strong software engineering skills and a passion for bringing technologies together to solve customer needs. In this position, you will manage a software development team and the scalability, longevity, and durability of relevant product releases. You will report directly to the Sr. Director, Applications & Integrations. Responsibilities * Provide people leadership and personal development to the Integration Development software team * Manage the integrations of new sources of information into clinical workflows on the Vocera Engage platform * Promote and establish good engineering practices * Collaborate with operations to anticipate and mitigate potential deployment issues as well as troubleshoot issues encountered by customers * Partner with product management and key internal stakeholders to define the product feature roadmap * Collaborate with the Vocera platform and client teams to define flexible, maintainable, APIs * Collaborate with the QA team to ensure features perform to Vocera and customer quality standards * Establish schedules and monitor progress against intermediate and final development targets Competencies * Demonstrated experience building teams and showing strong leadership, hiring and developing talent, vision to inspire and excite team, and management of performance * Ability to lead software development teams in an Agile software development environment to deliver enterprise-class platform products * Fully conversant with SOLID principles, software development frameworks, design patterns, protocol design and application integration * Demonstrated ability to use data to improve processes and evaluate design options * Dedicated in the face of ambiguous requirements; unafraid to explore new ideas and technologies * Excellent analytical, organizational, planning, communication, and documentation skills * Good understanding of hospital related clinical communication and collaboration workflows Requirements * Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent * 8+ years of proven experience in the development and delivery of full stack software solutions * 2+ years of experience managing a software development team * Strong understanding and experience with client-side frameworks including Angular, HTML, CSS * Experience with common networking and messaging protocols including TCP, UDP, SOAP, REST * Proven experience with server-side development with Java, Gradle, and /or Git and continuous integration * Familiarity any of the following would be a strong plus: Apache, Java EE, JUnit, Linux, Postgres, OGSi, RxJava, HL7, FIHR * Some travel, mostly international, will be needed * Proof of full COVID-19 vaccination required /Belief in Diversity/ / Vocera Communications is an Affirmative Action Employer committed to workforce diversity.
