We, the ProServe engineering team in AWS ProServe India LLP (“ProServe India”), work with internal partners/customers to build production-ready applications for the most strategic cloud customers around the country. It could be anything: tools for the automotive industry to help them develop self-driving vehicles, supply chain management systems that help minimize carbon emissions, tooling for pharmaceutical companies to speed up drug development, and thousand other customer needs. We solve the world’s most challenging problems using the cutting-edge cloud technology.

Responsibilities
Provide technical guidance to the team. Actively participate in hiring and mentoring other engineers.
Stay updated with the ever-widening stream of AWS platform improvements and new services.
Work backwards from customers’ needs to produce business outcomes.
Respectfully challenge requirements and persistently advocate for Amazon’s highest engineering standards.
Work with the team to design, develop, test, and deploy well-architected cloud-native software solutions that are simple, reliable, secure, high-performing, scalable, maintainable, and evolvable.
Drive and implement best practices in modern software engineering: design, implementation, testing, version control, documentation, deployment, monitoring and operations.
Write high quality, robust and maintainable code.
Dive deep and maintain progress even in the face of ambiguity and imperfect knowledge (avoid “analysis paralysis”).
Communicate clearly (verbal/written), within the team and external (technical/non-technical) groups.
Encourage and support knowledge-sharing within the team and external (technical/non-technical) groups.
Obtain/maintain AWS Certifications.
Occasional travel (<20%).

Our team solves problems spanning across multiple industries and technologies. As a result, you have the opportunity to contribute where your skills fit best and to grow new skills. Our projects typically last 4 – 12 months, starting with an initial ideation and design phase and ending with a handover after a successful deployment into production. Our team puts a high value on work-life balance. Most projects do not involve on-call responsibilities.
Most of us work from home; only a few prefer to work in the office. We have flexible working hours with only a few fixed points such as daily stand-ups or weekly team calls. Of course, we are customer obsessed and also respect our customer schedules while planning customer interactions.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
4+ years of professional software development experience
3+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
2+ years of experience contributing to the system design or architecture (architecture, design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and current systems
Experience as a mentor, tech lead OR leading an engineering team
Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
Experience with agile software development.
Ability to communicate clearly with peers and technical/non-technical stakeholders.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Experience building full-stack web applications.
Experience with Cloud-native Software Development.
Experience with Cloud Operational Excellence practices.
Knowledge of Application Security Principles and how they impact development and deployment of applications.
Proficiency in design and analysis of algorithms and data structures that operate at global scale.
