Role Description

The incumbent will be accountable for accurate, efficient and timely expense and revenue accounting across AXP Legal Entities for Finance Charge Revenue, accounting for RESY and related reporting ensuring strong controls and compliance and meeting related GAAP accounting guidance, policies and procedures.

The role requires a sharp focus on the core delivery and consistent pursuit of improvement and innovation through process redesign and automation. A focus of this role is to use the data and knowledge about Financials to create business insights for partners.

Purpose of the Role

The role is required to deliver accurate and timely expense and revenue accounting across AXP Legal Entities for Finance Charge Revenue, accounting for RESY and related reporting ensuring strong controls and compliance with all related GAAP accounting guidance, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support expense and revenue Accounting and reporting across AXP Legal Entities for Finance Charge Revenue , accounting for RESY

• Maintain and continually enhance strong Control and Compliance environment in compliance with US GAAP, AXP Finance Policy and protocols

• Support Collaboration with multiple stakeholders viz, Segment and LE Controllership, GFO, LFO, Business and External and Internal Auditors, Tax and GSM to deliver accurate and timely accounting and reporting.

• Strong focus on generating effectiveness and efficiencies through automation, data interpretation for analytics and supporting enterprise projects.

• Ensuring control and compliance as required per GAAP guidance, PRSA, policies

• Pursuit of innovation and process innovation designed for efficiency and higher effectiveness

• Agility and ability to work fast across teams for achieving goals

Past Experience

• Experience in performing accounting and related reporting in compliance with US GAAP and IFRS

Academic Background

• Graduate / Post-Graduate in Commerce or MBA with 1-3 years of relevant experience in financial accounting domain.

Functional Skills/Capabilities

• The incumbent will be required to have strong accounting (US GAAP) & reconciliation knowledge, policy awareness & control mindset.

• High proficiency in MS-Office applications, Oracle Applications, Essbase and TM1, and other AXP systems.

• Analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve queries with the ability to deal with large set of data, perform trend & variance analysis and creating meaningful insights.

• Strong communication, relationship management & collaboration skills while closely working with various stakeholders across Controllership, Business Finance, Audit and Control groups

• Highly motivated, self-starter. Excellent verbal & written communication, presentation skills.

• Ability to challenge the status quo and drive continuous improvements.

• Quick learner, agile with an eye for detail.

Knowledge of Platforms

• AXP Oracle GL, reporting, and business applications knowledge

• Good knowledge of MS Office
