Objectives of the position
Partner with managing director of the business unit (chennai) and cce lt hr (china) and is responsible for providing general hr, er / ir, administration & facilities support to mobile emission catalyst businessResponsible for overall leadership, development of the business units’ strategy and programs with regards to their impact on people, structure, process, compliance, diversity & inclusion
Main tasks
Partner, influence and collaborate with key stakeholders in designated scope to design, organize, schedule, and implement the hr daily activities / interventions to support the business plans and growthThe work areas include but not limited to head count planning, hiring, job evaluation, onboarding, performance management, talent management, employee engagement, learning and development including skill matrix for operator colleagues, employee communication / town hall, rewards & recognition, terminations, industrial relations, site compliances, facilities and administration including planning, budgeting and administration and operational excellence
Lead and support the organizational strategies including carve out by implementing the impacted hr system / process, change management and employee communications
Lead and support the business objective achievements in terms of service deliveries, standards, schedules and legal compliance
Analyse, design at country level and support global initiatives towards achieving business objectives in terms of service deliveries, standards, schedules and legal compliance
Influence, partner, and act as hr advisor to consult, coach and challenge senior leaders on hr topicsBuild and maintain a relationship as trusted strategic hr partner with key stakeholders in the unit
Based on unit regional/global strategy, proactively identify organization needs and design appropriate hr solutions/ initiatives in the country, in line with regional directionEnsure timely implementation & review effectiveness
Advise on country organization design, develop, and execute specific hr solutions/measures, hr project management and implementation in the countryEvaluate impact and if needed take action on follow up
Facilitate and lead discussion with unit leaders in the country and provide input for regional/global talent discussion and overview alignment, e.g., succession planning, talent review & talent forum
Analyse, monito all core hr / ir areas / process in the country, analyse relevant parameters, highlight implications, and needs and derive actions if neededEnsure implementation & review effectivenessSupport local implementation of unit regional action
Guide and coach team for execution and delivery of employee and industrial relations (er/ir) services for the business unit while managing the industrial relations climate, this also includes all statutory / legal compliances (for e.g., factories act, contract labour, pf, esi, tnpcb, property tax, professional tax, etc.)Monitor and ensure all the hr daily operations fully in line with hr policies/practices, compliancewith state / country laws and regulations
Evaluate, prepare manpower plan collaborating with stake holders and put up for proposal and approvals, responsible for headcount forecast and management in the country and navigating through dynamic scenarios
Maintain and approve budget under facilities and administration, guide team on daily operations to the unit and plan the most efficient administrative process for the siteIncluding: welfare, canteen, transportation, courier, general administration etc.
Represent hr function / guide the team for business audit, customer audit, government audit and other specific project
Drive the employee relationship managementHandle employee grievances, complaints and special cases, union management (where applicable)
People strategy / talent management (responsible for by partnering with leaders to build a strong talent pipelineAssess the talent with outcomes to identify gaps in capabilities for new operating model and decisions to retain or find another role / exitDesign interventions at india level and support / execute global initiatives)

Minimum education and qualification required for the position
Education: master’s in hr / msw with industrial relations / manufacturing experience
Working experience: at least 10 years working experience with min 3 years as hrbp
Technical & professional knowledge: understanding of labour legislation / relevant hr certifications / membership in associations
