About the role
The country hr director for india is the key role to ensure the flawless execution of the global hr strategy of bekaert across bekaert’s businesses and operations sites in indiaThe incumbent is a core member of the local country leadership team and forms part of the global hr leadership team within bekaert’s global rubber reinforcement business divisionAs such the job holder will workforce closely with global and local stakeholders within the various business units and functions, as well as in hrThe deployment of the hr agenda is enabled through a 3-tiered organisation with a team of local hrbps reporting directly to the country hr director as well as global hr services based in india and across ermea and the group’s centres of expertise (talent, diversity and inclusion; leadership, learning and engagement; organisation effectiveness).
Your impact as in the role:
Drive and lead the local business and people and organisation related priorities together with the country manager india and the india leadership team
Act as a sparring partner to the country manager and the local leaders of the business units
Translate and adopt bekaert’s hr strategy in india in alignment with the country business leadership team, reflecting local strategic needs and legal, fiscal and regulatory requirements
Build a sustainable and high-quality talent pipeline for expert and key leadership / managerial roles
Ensure smooth employee and industrial relations across all sites and locations of bekaert’s business in india in collaboration with the team of local hr business partners and industrial relations managers.
About the candidate
10+ years of a demonstrable track record of hr business partnering in a global company, including talent development, talent attraction, high potential talent management, succession planning, capability, and competence development
Confirmed culture and organisation change management with a focus on driving employee engagement, diversity and inclusion and new business development / integration
Above country / plant experience in a matrixed end-to-end organisation (manufacturing, sales & marketing (b2b,b2c), r&d; digitalisation; global sap/it integration, globalised product portfolio, global business services) with a respective advanced corporate governance and standards (evolved hr and compliance principles of eu/us listed companies) allowing to take a global versus country perspective
Experience in managing employee and industrial relations, preferably within the context of a industrial / manufacturing context in india, and proven experience in negotiating collective labour agreements
Confirmed experience in a 3-tiered hr organisation (hr transformation experience), with particular exposure to working with and building up strong working relationships global business / hr services and centres of expertise/excellence (plus relevant knowledge of preferably successfactors)
Senior stakeholder management and exposure up to group executive or equivalent level
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills; positive can-do mentality; boldness to challenge the status quo in respectful way; emotional intelligence for organisational and individual needs, ability to act in a respectful and trustful way from shopfloor to management
Understanding of the indian labour market requirements, labour market dynamics and key principles of the local employment laws
High potential talent to feed the global hr talent pipeline of bekaert in 4-5 years after assignment in india
International mindset and profile; mobility beyond india
