Purpose of Position
The job incumbent is responsible for the sampling and analysis of samples according to standard/verified methods, filling of records, raw data, reporting to the Lab supervisor, following the QMS
The position performs in line with the Bureau Veritas Quality Assurance System, including the BV Code of Ethics and the BV Group policy
Ø Major Responsibilities
Responsible to maintain Quality Management System and compliance to NABL criteria.
Microbiological analysis as per laboratory accreditation scope.
Supervision of sampling and analysis as per the requirements
Daily verification of raw data, log books, technical records, test results and reports before submitting the same for final test reports.
Ensuring the timely entry/submission of test results n LIMS and verification of the same.
Preparation of SOP, protocols.
Preparation and implementation of PT and IQC plans as per the timelines.
Upgradation of methods, protocols and their timely revisions.
Maintaining the integrity of samples
Maintaining log books, calibration records
Calibration of equipment and glassware as per schedule
Maintenance of housekeeping, Environmental conditions in the laboratory
Timely disposal of samples
Preparation of standard solutions and maintaining records for the same
Checking validity and purity of Reference material
Performing Sterility checks and air sterility monitoring as per schedule.
Maintenance of standard reference cultures
Maintenance of stock levels of all consumables required in the laboratory.
Training of junior microbiologist.
Ø Roles & Responsibilities for HSE
Must comply the BV Cardinal Safety Rules in all situations.
To comply company HSE requirements e.g. policies, Procedures, guidelines etc. and local legal requirements on HSE as applicable
To take care of own health and safety as well as colleagues and others.
Immediate reporting of any shortcomings on HSE i.e. any incident, unsafe work practices / conditions to his/her immediate Line Managers.
Sharing opportunities for improvement on HSE aspects.
Ø Criteria for Performance Evaluation (KPIs)
Through understanding of Microbiology laboratory technical procedures covering the entire scope of testing and develop practical skills.
Shall be punctual and shall ensure the results are declared within agreed TAT on the samples allotted
No technical customer complaints regarding improper analysis, PT/ILC outliers.
Follow HSE norms and good housekeeping in working area
Maintain all records as per quality systems guidelines
Attend all the outside sampling jobs with strict adherence to the procedures
Maintain good human relationship with the colleagues and external agencies
One improvement / suggestion per month for the cost saving and improve productivity
Storage of samples & chemicals – 100% traceability
Adherence to environmental and safety policies of our organization
Qualification, Experience & Technical Knowledge
B.Sc / M.Sc – Microbiology / Microbiology as one of the subject in graduation or post-graduation.
Min 5 – 8 Years relevant experience in Food Microbiological analysis from Food Lab.
Must have working experience in NABL accredited lab.
