Job Description:
DDN India is looking for a production test engineer to join our “Make In India” manufacturing team. This is an individual contributor role reporting to Product Manager and would be responsible for Level 6 – Level 10 manufacturing of data storage systems. This role requires basic understanding of electronics manufacturing process with emphasis on testing and quality control.
Department Level Responsibilities:
Understand and learn DDN’s global manufacturing processes, tools, and techniques.
Understand and adopt global manufacturing process instructions to local standards.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Ensure our products and procedures meet industry standards.
Individual Responsibilities:
Inspecting incoming raw materials to identify defects and malfunctions.
Cataloguing raw material, filing defective material documentation, and processing for returns.
Allocating and transporting raw material for customer orders to manufacturing floor.
Assembling, wiring, soldering and fitting of components on the printed circuit boards.
Quality Assurance testing of all components as well as system level QA.
Racking, stacking, and connecting multiple components into single system.
Running system level test procedures, analysing, and understanding logs, diagnosing issues.
Monitor all production stages to ensure safety procedures are followed.
Engaging with local engineering and remote manufacturing teams to diagnose and resolve any manufacturing problems. Suggest fixes and improvements to manufacturing processes.
Help with labelling, dismantling, packing system with help of logistics team.
Documenting results of build and test environment for every shipping order.
Skills Requirements:
Previous experience as a Test Engineer or similar role handling PCB, CPUs, memory, Solid State and hard drives, capacitors, PCIe cards etc.
Familiarity with various testing techniques with hands-on experience with Quality Management Systems
Technical expertise should include a broad background in circuit card assembly with a strong concentration in surface mount technology/processes.
Familiarity with Linux commands, Shell/Perl/Python scripting
Great troubleshooting skills
Proficient in written and verbal English communication
Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or relevant field
Additional certification in Quality Assurance is a plus.
