Manage the overall development of key supply chain strategies for the assigned Suppliers in India, with alignment to global commodity objectives, to gain the optimum result for the Organization. Coordinate deployment of actions in support of the strategic initiatives working closely with the Manufacturing Engineering and Supplier Quality Engineering resources. Manage the supplier performance of the assigned suppliers meeting the KRA’s. Optimize supply chain effectiveness through continuous improvement of supplier performance.
Develop and implement supply chain strategies to meet manufacturing needs and business objectives.
Maintain an in-depth knowledge of global industry activity through close working relationships with suppliers, trade organizations, and market trends.
Negotiate and implement strategic initiatives for material sourcing and pricing strategies.
Identify, evaluate, select, and qualify new suppliers.
Approve first article evaluation.
Work with manufacturing sites to phase in new suppliers for production volume.
Identify and implement cost containment/reduction opportunities .
Alternate sourcing, design improvements, part standardisation, supplier consolidation, LTA, etc
Perform value analysis on total logistic cost and improve on it.
Manage supplier performance:
Develop structured process with supplier to set and monitor KPI
Develop supplier plans/goals that drive continuous improvement in manufacturing process, inventory and capacity planning
Monitor the delivery performance of the assigned suppliers and ensure 95% OTD of the supplies to our sites
Weekly OOR meeting with all suppliers, Analyze and derive an action plan for eliminating the root cause of any delay which affects the delivery performance
Quarterly Supplier Business review needs to be conducted including Supplier team & other Key Stake holders from all WA. Action Points to be Captured & followed for Completion
Forecast Consolidation, Stocking overview, NVA elimination to be maintained & implemented for all assigned Suppliers
Develop and benchmark best practices among suppliers
Maintain supplier tool / pattern for WW GSC database
Weekly updates of all assigned suppliers NPD projects under execution
Scope Data (Area of coverage/account coverage, extent of authorisation, sales/profit volume)

Knowledge and Skills How Used
Bachelor’s degree in engineering mechanical / Automobile or related discipline, with minimum 7 years relevant experience
Preferably with experience related to Casting commodity
Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong understanding of direct material use, cost control and negotiations
Lean manufacturing concepts
Analytical, mathematical, attention to detail
Problem-solving skills
Good planning and time management skills
The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and through written reports
An ability to work with personnel in many functional areas
Understand the nature of the job requirements.
Carry out duties with minimum supervision.
Better understanding of the Casting process (Investment & Sand).
Ability to evaluate quotes / pricing

Job holder reports to the Commodity Manager, Global Supply Chain in Asia Pacific.
Internal relationships with subordinate, peers, cross-functional managers in Valve Division as well as Emerson.
Frequent suppliers contact / Visit and some contact with Logistics agencies.
