GE Vernova Looking for Environment, Health and Safety (EHS) Manager-ONW India Project & Services (m/f/d) at Remote Full Time

Job Description Summary

The EHS Manager-ONW India Project & Service position reports hierarchically to the Asia EHS Regional Leader. He/she will be responsible to ensure the safe operations during Project & Service across ONW India/SA Region. He/she will work closely with the OPS team and when needed with the customers to provide technical EHS support and oversight to ensure successful implementation and execution of all EHS expectations from GE & ONW. He/she will also provide input and support the wider ONW COE EHS team as we work to build one successful EHS team. He/she manage an EHS Team (GE Employees / Contingent workers as applicable) allocate the EHS resource across the responsible country for Project & Service activities.

The EHS Manager-ONW India Project & Services is a critical role to provide technical EHS guidance and support successful EHS management across the operations sites during the GE work scope such as projects, operations, major upgrades.

ESSENTIAL

RESPONSIBILITIES

As EHS Manager- ONW India Project & Services, you will:

• Act as a People leader, having GE direct report as well as EHS Contingent workers as per business need.

• Leading the sites/cluster EHS teams to develop, implement and monitor the EHS Management system aligned with GE Vernova ONW expectations.

• Drive and ensure the EHS & Regulatory compliance in project and services sites situated in India are met 100% of the time effectively.

• Ensure compliance and coordinate with the Site Managers/CSMs/MCU Leaders/Blade Services to ensure the implementation of both GE and legislative EHS expected programs and training requirements.

• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the effectiveness of health and safety initiatives and drive accountability across the India region.

• Support and mentor OPS team in incident investigation, use root cause analysis methods, ensuring identify correct incident root causes as well as addressing correction actions.

• Liaise with a diverse range of third parties including Customer, Contractors/Subcontractors, emergency services and regulatory agencies on EHS matters as necessary.

• Deliver and, where necessary, support development of EHS training, including maintaining records of competency and training completion.

• Conduct audits and inspections and manage any third party EHS inspections, following the expectation laid out by GE, including on-time closure of audit findings.

• Promote a positive EHS culture, including STOP WORK Authority to all personnel, including third parties and support implementation of EHS incentive programs, as well as Just and Fair Cause process.

• Manage EHS meetings with GE/Partner/Subcontractors or other 3rd parties as necessary.

• Supports all other demands as assigned as per business needs (Governance audit across ONW business, any EHS support coming from the EHS COE Team etc. not inclusive all.)

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering stream (like Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical etc.)

• A minimum of 10 to 15 years of progressive experience in health and safety roles and operations preferably working with cross functional team in a multinational organization set up.

• Occupational Health and Safety or related technical degree from an accredited university or college and/or professional qualification in technical field and/or comparable education (ASP/CSP/RLI/NEBOSH IGC preferred)

• Strong leadership skills with the ability to influence and motivate teams across different cultures and geographies.

• Strong knowledge of EHS management systems, EHS standards and EHS & Safety regulations.

• Willingness and flexibility to travel 50-60% of the time, both national and international as needed.

DESIRED CHARACTERISTICS:

• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Local or internationally recognized professional EHS qualification, like NEBOSH.

• Confidently able to facilitate and deliver training and presentations to a diverse audience.

• Ability to influence and motivate diverse teams to achieve a unified goal.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities.

• Good condition and fitness to climb a wind turbine.

• Strong knowledge in a project and or Service environment

• Have domain expertise in two or more of the following HRO’s: Electrical Safety, LOTO requirements, crane safety, construction safety, fall prevention, confined space.

• High energy, self-starter

• Soft skills: Expert level in Influence and communication, resilience and change management, performance, resources and conflict management, Employee relations and team engagement, vision and goals setting and analytical problem solving.

• Technical skills: Expert level in EHS Risk Assessment, root cause Analysis, EHS Audits, Regulatory Compliance and EHS Management System
