Data Analytics & Reporting (IDAR) Position Title: Statistical Programmer (Title may vary based on Region or Country requirements)
Position Summary: The Statistical Programmer is a experience development position within the IDAR Statistical Programming and Analysis functional area. The Statistical Programmer will gains basic knowledge of the role of Statistical Programming in the drug development process and the related processes, concepts, techniques and approaches adopted within this functional area. This position may act as an individual contributor supporting statistical programming activities in compliance with departmental processes and procedures. This is done with the appropriate training in line with the functional core curriculum for these activities and under close supervision ensuring compliance and quality. In addition, Statistical Programmer may contribute to departmental innovation and process improvement projects or exploratory research projects relevant to the function.
Principal Responsibilities: • Develops basic knowledge and experience of the role of Statistical Programming in the drug development process and the related processes, concepts, techniques and approaches adopted through training, coaching and engaging in activities relevant to the function. • Under close, qualified supervision that ensures quality and compliance, may; • Design and develop statistical programs of low complexity in support of low risk functional deliverables related to clinical research analysis and reporting. • Perform appropriate quality control and verification activities of low complexity in support of assigned clinical research analysis and reporting activities. • Maintain Statistical Programming documentation related to these activities • Provide input into other procedural or technical documents. • Performs activities in accordance with departmental processes and procedures as appropriate. • Ensures continued compliance with required company and departmental training, time reporting, and other business/operational processes as required relative to activities. • May contribute to departmental innovation and process improvement projects or exploratory research projects relevant to the function.
Principal Relationships: • Reports into people manager position within the Statistical Programming and Analysis functional area (Statistical Programming Leader (SPL) or similar). • As part of development goals or activities; o Functional contacts within IDAR may include but are not limited to, SPL, Programming Lead, Data Management, Regulatory Medical Writing o Functional contacts within Janssen may include but are not limited to Quantitative Sciences, Biostatisticians, Clinical.
Qualifications
Education and Experience Requirements: • Enrolled on a qualified, relevant Bachelor’s/Master’s degree program or equivalent in computer science, mathematics, data science/analytics, or other relevant scientific field (or equivalent theoretical/technical depth). • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Knowledge/Experience • Basic knowledge of relevant programming languages (e.g. SAS, R, Python etc.).
