Job summary
This role is responsible for managing, through direct and indirect influence, the overall development, coordination, training, and compliance of the global, kennametal program management standards.
The primary role and responsibilities will include the leadership, planning, development, organization, execution, and maintenance of the global program management process and organizational skillsetsThis role will also act as liaison between business functions (e.g., manufacturing, commercial, technology, it, finance) and segment project management organizations (pmos), identifying key stakeholders, ensuring alignment is being facilitated among process end usersExecutive level and senior leadership communications are expectedThis role also includes contributing to overall business strategy associated with project selection.
Key responsibilities
Manage day to day responsibilities of global program management strategy by creating and continuously improving standard process and tools, with defined process training, governance, and oversight.
Develop tactical plans to increase program management maturity throughout the kennametal organization, providing feedback and input on strategy to leadership.
Monitor process and identify areas for improved project execution to key stakeholders (e.g., pmo directors, portfolio leads, operational leadership) within business segments.
Conduct proactive and comprehensive risk management to ensure risks are identified, impacts are known and communicated, and mitigations are planned into day-to-day activities.
Drive overall program management community career development through training and learning opportunities.
Provide day-to-day direction and expertise to global program management community.
Lead and implement process improvement within program management and to ancillary business processes associated with program management.
Serve as a subject matter expert and system administrator on the global program management process and tools.
Position can be located in any of the following locations: office in home or any kennametal location.
Preferred areas of education, certifications, and skills:
Bachelors degree in a business, technical, financial, or engineering discipline requiredEquivalent experience also acceptable.
Ten to fifteen years of demonstrated experience leading efforts with multi-million-dollar budgets using global cross functional teams from multiple business segments.
Able to execute high complexity processes from concept through execution with no supervision and in accordance with kennametal’s policies.
Demonstrated experience in leading multi-functional teams, including contract / vendor resources, within a global environment; global process management experience required.
Experience utilizing disciplined, structured, and repetitive processes to manage complex business functions.
Demonstrated experience with facilitating strong collaboration/communication across multiple geographic locations.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Strong competency in customer focus (both internal and external) to ensure company processes are met.
Experience with microsoft office suite, microsoft teams, microsoft power bi, project management software (e.gMicrosoft project), and demonstrated ability to learn other business software.
Demonstrated and proven proficiency in process management and program management principals required.
Understanding of manufacturing and operations preferred.
Program management institute project management professional (pmi pmp) certification a plus but not required.
