Your Role and Responsibilities
Provide Cisco Unified Communications technology expertise and associated technical support, evaluating and resolving complex technical issues related to the voice network.
Consult and work collaboratively with internal departments and vendors to ensure a quality call experience for our customers. Perform IP network analysis and monitoring to insure peak performance and quality of the voice traffic.
Work with vendors, clients, carriers and technical staff on VoIP implementation, optimization, security and ongoing management. This includes but is not limited to troubleshooting infrastructure and services including CUCM, CUC, UCCE, CUIC, CUPS, CUBE, CER, CVP, IM&P, Finesse, Jabber, Telepresence and all other Unified Communications applications.
Ensure performance, capacity, availability, and quality of the voice environment monitoring for emerging incidents and initiate preventative action.Provide on-call and after-hours coverage as necessary. Travel as required to any of the other locations.
• Working on a severity incident and manage those incident as being the highest level of escalation point of contact.
• Provide timely response to all tickets (Incidents, Service requests), outages and performance alerts as per the SLA.
• Recognize, identify and prioritize incidents in accordance with customer business requirements, organizational policies and operational impact
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in computer engineering, systems or related field.
Well versed with Cisco / Juniper Firewall (NS-5GT, SSG5, SSG140, SSG520, SSG-1000)
Prefer knowledge of Cisco, Checkpoint, Riverbed, and Avaya hardware.
CCNP or equivalent industry &/or business networking experience desired
Hands on experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux
Experience with TCP/IP, networking, and DNS, SMTP, and HTTPS
Hands on experience with VLANs and routing
Strong knowledge of Linux/Unix security (Firewalls, ACLs, Authentication, etc.)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, preferably in computer engineering, systems or related field.
