Your Role and Responsibilities
As a System Management Specialist, you are responsible for reporting directly to Web Services Lead, the Web Platform Engineer is responsible for technical deliverables on small to medium size projects as well as provide stability and secure all web platforms under web services.Engineering is also responsible for:
Producing Infrastructure engineering deliverables meeting or exceeding benchmarks for quality and performance in accordance with the project timeline.
Maintaining effective and consistent communication within the team, across all Infrastructure Service Delivery teams, and with resources in other IT Services groups.
Proactively raising issues to Team Leads when necessary.
Providing Knowledge Transfer and level 4th technical support to Operations teams in the field of expertise.

Specialty areas for Web Services: Apache Web Server, Websphere Application Server8.x, 9.x, JWS, Tomcat, IIS.Net, Powershell Scripts; Azure; Azure Kubernetes Services (AKS) and OpenShift.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise

Analyze the latest industry trends such as cloud computing and distributed processing and infer potential impact on the business (short and long-term).
Design and engineer platform solutions to meet and exceed expectations of customers.
Provide support and documentation to assist in sustaining the project during the transition to production.
Creates a vision that connects engineering strategies to the big picture and sets action plans accordingly
Partners with application development and infrastructure teams to align leading edge and leveraging strategies.
Work with Security team to ensure system configurations are following security policies and controls standards.
Create technology efficiency and new capabilities through the use of automation.
Ability to deal with ambiguity and drive clarity and actions.
Ability to work with a variety of development environments and platforms.
Propose and implement medium to large scale system deployment (hardware, OS and cloud platforms).
Support new and existing deployments through the analysis of metrics, logs, system alarms etc.
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
Substantial, extensive and demonstrated experience in various aspects of technology infrastructure design and implementation, with tangible, relevant and demonstrated experience in delivering projects within scope and budget
Approximately 5-7 years of related work experience in Web Platformand Middleware engineering functions and infrastructure supports
Required Education Master’s Degree
Preferred Education Bachelor’s Degree
