Under the direction of the PMO Leader or RD business leader, the PDProject Mgmt Specialist will successfully organize, manage, and lead project teams of Medtronic business
The individual will work closely with the Medtronic teams, and cross-functional project teams within MEIC (Medtronic Engineering and Innovation Center, Hyderabad) and GBUs ( (Global Business Unit) in order to execute work
The resources managed by this individual will be located in MEIC working on projects, in the GBUs and also with the engineering service providers (ESPs).
The individual will manage multiple projects for Medtronic which represent significant growth opportunities for MEIC. These projects will global in both scale and scope, and have direct visibility to senior management.
A Day in the Life
The core scope of work for PD Project Management Specialist will include management and oversight of product development activities (mainly software) for programs in Medtronic portfolio
Develop and execute master project plans for RD workstreams for relevant projects including schedules, budgets, and resources
Define project resource requirements and negotiate team assignments with functional managers, as appropriate for RD work
Plan, coordinate and track project activities
Manage project budget as appropriate
Develop and monitor risk mitigation plans to ensure business and project objectives are met
Support outside contract/supply agreement development and vendor management
Challenge internal functional groups to meet project goals and commitments
Provide routine project status communications to management
Ensure communication across MEIC and GBUs and with Medtronic stakeholders.
Key liaisons are PMO Manager, RD Business Leaders, Cross-functional leaders, Functional managers, Core Team Members, and other Project Managers and Engineering service providers.
Works closely with RA, QA and Documentation departments to establish proper regulatory and quality documentation procedures.
Must Haves
Bachelors with 5+ years of experience in product design and development is required.
Masters with 3+ years of experience in product design and development is preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in project management related to product development in software domain.
Ability to effectively work with and lead globally located team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Experienced with Microsoft project and office
Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills particularly working with individuals from across countries and cultures .
Excellent time management and professionalism
Nice to Haves
Knowledge of software engineering management, both tools and process (project tracking/scheduling; document management; SW unit/verification testing; issue/bug tracking; configuration management; integration/release testing; etc.)
Experience with change control, requirements management, source code control
Familiarity with FDA Quality System Regulations (820.30 design controls), European Regulatory Requirements (ISO 13485), and specifically IEC62304 is preferred
PMI /Agile certification preferred
