Partners with customers, sales, engineering and product teams to design, demonstrate and deploy Oracle Cloud architectures that address customer business problems. Drives Oracle Cloud customer consumption by accelerating the adoption of Oracle cloud services including discovery, design and deployment.
Responsible for participating in customer engagements to collaboratively design and implement solutions. May work directly with customers to gather requirements, develop architectures and translates business needs into solutions. Implements solutions and ensures successful deployments through code development and scripting. Displays product/application understanding through more customized presentation demonstrations to customers and at conferences and events. Supports customer from Proof of Concept (POC) through production deployment of services via resource configuration, planning, and customer education/training. Creates and distributes technical assets (white papers, solution code, blog posts, and video demonstrations). Serves as a technical point of contact for customers and sales on technical cloud solutions and customer success. Further builds business and technical acumen.
Minimum qualifications include: 5 years experience with computer applications and tools required. Ability to travel 25% international and domestic.
Preferred but not required qualifications include: Bachelor of Science-level university degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering from accredited university; and/or relevant 5 years technical experience. Expertise in system and application design; Written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills; Needs analysis, positioning, and business justification; Solving technical problems with customers in technical environments.

About the Role:
We are seeking candidates for senior cloud engineer position within our OCI Engineering team. Engineer will work with Exadata, ExaCS, Exadata Cloud@Customer team on the shared full stack cloud engineering and migration.
The Database cloud Engineer will focus on helping customers determine solution requirements and help move Database onto Oracle’s Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). The DB cloud Engineer will understand the end-to-end configuration, technical dependencies, and overall behavioral characteristics of production cloud database services.
Responsible for the design and delivery of the mission critical stack, with focus on security, resiliency, scale, and performance. Authority for end-to-end performance and operability according to customer requirements. Partner with product development and marketing teams in defining and implementing improvements in service architecture. Communicate technical characteristics of services and technology areas and guide development teams to engineer and add premier capabilities to the Oracle Cloud service portfolio.
Solve sophisticated problems related to infrastructure cloud services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence. Design, write, and deploy software to improve the availability, scalability, and efficiency of Oracle products and services. Work Closely with Customer and/or Partners to bring Production workload on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Facilitate service capacity planning and demand forecasting, software performance analysis, and system tuning.
Work Timings:
Oracle offers flexible ‘work-from-home’ options for our adjusted work shifts of 2PM-11PM IST to accommodate our North American customers and promote work/life balance for all of our diverse employees. Since this is a customer-facing role, we need to make sure that there is adequate time overlap with US time zones to be able to effectively communicate & collaborate with our customers and US Oracle teams. We try to keep the morning IST hours free for our employees so that they can take care of personal family matters and Oracle also offers free home pickup/drop-off car services- via company provided taxi cabs- for our employees as well. Desired Skills/Experience
8+ years of relevant experience in Oracle Database Administration and Data Management Platform, Experience in leading large Database Consolidation projects, including planning, architecture and execution
Working experience in Oracle Database, Oracle RAC, ASM, Maximum Availability Architecture (MAA), Multi-tenancy Architecture, Oracle DB Upgrade (12c, 18c,19c).
Experience in Cross Platform Transportable Tablespaces (XTTS), Database migration to Cloud Using Export/Import, RMAN, MV2DB, ZDM and using Golden Gate.
OCI DB System Administration (ADB, VM DBSystem, ExaCS, ExaCC, BM DBSystem) and Experience in Performance tuning of Oracle Database and SQL tuning
Experience in solution architecture of complex Data Management systems, including re-platform of such systems
Education and Certification:
Bachelor level or higher degree in Computer Science, CIS, Informatics, Mathematics, Engineering or other relevant subject area.
Cloud (OCI/AWS/Azure,GCP) Architect Associate level certification is essential.
