ROLE RESPONSIBILITY
The Content Producer will work in close collaboration with India- and US-based Portfolio team members, India- and US-base Production & Digital Studio team members, and US-based Managing Producer. The incumbent will primarily be responsible for managing production-related tasks for the CertPrep builds and on other digital programs.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the publishing plan for the CertPrep and other primarily digital programs in the IT Professional Portfolio.
Clearly and regularly communicates with internal and external stakeholders regarding schedules, requirements, and deliverables.
Troubleshoot and resolve problems with a project; obtain managing producer input when needed
Manage time and priorities effectively including, but not limited to: meetings, internal work assignments provided by CertPrep project team members and Managing Producer.
Ensure compliance with Pearson production and content standards
Manage multiple projects per month while maintaining efficiency, competency, and diplomacy
Hire vendors to electronically produce the project and coordinate their schedules; oversee their output; work with project team to minimize editing, layout, indexing, and production errors, and increase efficiency
Ensure that project costs stay within budget
Project management:
Will review all course builds built by vendor to ensure appropriate content structure, style and accuracy of content per defined project checklist
Will be responsible for QA of the courses – work to review and resolve issues logged by the QA team
Will provide alternative materials needed by the vendor for course builds
Will work with US project management team for content mappings associated with the project builds
Works to understand and help support the publishing plan and work collaboratively with editors and project management team
Communicates/clarifies to vendors effectively and to ensure clear understanding of needs.
Communicates project status and dependencies clearly to editor and acquisition editor to ensure project delivery objective
Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be required.
Administrative Support
Work in the internal Pearson system to maintain project records and produce reports and audits as required.
Update and correct project metadata in the appropriate internal system.
Active ownership and constructive and cooperative working relationship
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
This position requires a Bachelor’s and/or a Master’s degree.
At least 1-2 years of work experience, preferably in editorial, product development and/or production roles.
Excellent and persuasive written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to set goals, prioritize tasks, build effective agendas and lead successful and efficient meetings.
Ability to collaborate with key stakeholders and work in teams with a high degree of functional diversity.
Prior experience in digital product development/management or project management will be an advantage.
Proficiency with PC & MAC, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel.
