For one, the Strategy Consultancy Bangalore (SCB) team, as part of the Global Strategy Consultancy & Excellence, seeks to provide credible and actionable insights, enabling strategy development and critical decisions for the senior leaders in Shell.
The Strategy Excellence team works closely with the SX (Strategy, Sustainability & Portfolio) organization, sharpening how winning strategies are formulated & implemented in Shell. Additionally, it produces periodic reports on the group competitive landscape on topics that are in focus for the leadership.
What’s the role?
As the Strategy IM & KM Advisor, you are accountable for deploying & embedding Information and Data standards, roles, responsibilities, competencies, initiatives, and services as defined in the business strategy, within the Group Strategy (SX) function
In this role, you are responsible for the definition of the IM needs of the stakeholders as well as the determination of IM solutions to meet those needs or resolve business problems and monitors, propose & work initiatives to improve I&D health and functional excellence in execution.
Further accountabilities are as follows:
To provide well-informed advice and assistance to SX staff regarding processes, best practices, and tools for the management of documents (physical and electronic) and records throughout their lifecycle.
To enable compliance with the Group records management Policies and Standards.
Implementation of information quality assurance techniques for document collections and associated components (document metadata and taxonomy structures)
To support IM Focal Points to enable compliance with the Group records management Policies and Standards.
To monitor and report progress of IM activities to LT, by tracking metrics such as records declared per quarter, non compliant documents, KM audit status reporting and managing stakeholder communication.
To provide well-informed advice and assistance to SX staff regarding processes, best practices, and tools for the management of documents (physical and electronic) and records throughout their lifecycle.

To support IMCFPs to enable compliance with the Group records management Policies and Standards.
To monitor and report progress of IM activities to LT, by tracking metrics such as records declared per quarter, non compliant documents, KM audit status reporting and managing stakeholder communication.
Ensure team awareness on record management, managing the library, creating users groups, handling permission requests, file plan that lists the types of records, retention labels applicable to SX & best practices
To continuously improve the SX Portal.
Lead the KM refresh training given biannually to team on Project compliance and KM standards
Onboard new members of SXC and training them on KM process
Knowledge of IM practices & assisting IM focal in SX for any urgent requests.
Managing Most Confidential (MC) site and training users on how to manage data confidentiality and security access.
Generating audit report on KM compliance of closed Projects on a Quarterly basis and sharing the score report with SXC VP.
Knowledge Management & Information Management:
Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of the business, processes, applications, information and data. Participate in the Business Analyst Network and learn from and share information with the strategy (SX) teams across the globe.
Onboard new Strategy Consultants into the SXC team, by showcasing our current SharePoint and MC SharePoint environments (as applicable), with key emphasis on KM best practices and audit timelines.
Build natural networks to align with IT and other functions to ensure visibility across KM initiatives.
Coordinate KM Focal Point network on a quarterly basis, keeping network focals involved in the scoring & maintenance for each of their teams.
Manage SharePoint & MC Sharepoint environments, monitor usage reports, site structure – content & layout, SharePoint support to SX senior leaders.
Ensure that IMCFCs have completed the required mandatory training for their role.
Assist and educate individuals and teams on IM compliance requirements.
To perform IM risk assessments and escalate issues in IM compliance to the IMCM and IM Delegate.
Records Management:
Monitor records declaration trends, periodically auditing the SharePoint sites for records management.
Use IMCFP network to issue quarterly reminders to SX community to declare records as appropriate.
To coordinate responses to preservation requests and ensure that preservation activity is adequately resourced in the Function.
To coordinate Record disposition processes.
Investigates document and records requirements and applies analysis and quality assurance techniques, to establish, modify or maintain document collections and associated components (document metadata and taxonomy structures).
What we need from you?
A four-year college degree in Management Information System (MIS) or Computer Science or any business course
5+ years of professional experience in Strategic Management Consulting.
Understanding of best practices in KM from consultancy industry
Knowledge in Business Analysis techniques
Experience on Information Management discipline
Experience of the definition and application of meta data in conjunction with information publishing and retrieval
Experience in the use of, electronic and physical document management systems including Livelink and SharePoint
Knowledge of the Document and Records Management Framework practices (i.e. Work Group Type Solutions, File plans, Record Types) and understands what is required to implement them effectively. Has solid understanding of the Document and Records support / services / operations environment. Is also knowledgeable of the Document and Records Management business process and understands how it fits in the relevant processes.
Various SharePoint sites and databases have the potential to reuse most of the data/information acquired in the past. Continuous improvement initiatives to implement this without any formal authority is expected
Must be proactive at managing critical interfaces and building and maintaining required relationships in virtual working environment, committed team player willing to learn from and share with colleagues
Managing a variable and at times heavy workload, for a wide range of stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery of work products in appropriate formats
