About the Role : Senior SRE Engineer – Data Platforms
The Team : Data Platforms team, part of Digital Technology Services (DTS), is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining large scale data-based systems that powers corporate applications, shared services, and information security systems.

Design, implement, and maintain automation frameworks for provisioning, configuration, and monitoring of database and application systems using tools such as VRO, Ansible, Puppet, Terraform, and custom scripting.
Collaborate with development teams to ensure scalable and reliable architecture designs for new applications and optimize existing ones.
Implement best practices and standards for database and application security, backup and recovery, performance monitoring, and capacity planning.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to database and application infrastructure.
Continuously identify and suggest improvements to enhance system performance, reliability, and scalability.
Create and maintain operational documentation, including architecture diagrams, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to database and application infrastructures.
Mentor and support junior members of the team, fostering knowledge sharing and growth.
What We’re Looking For: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior SRE Engineer to join our team. As a Senior SRE Engineer, you will be responsible for the engineering, automation, and operations of our database and application infrastructure hosted in AWS or on VMC. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our systems while driving automation to achieve our goal of “automate everything”. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as developers, DBAs, and operations to design and implement robust and scalable solutions.
Basic Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration, infrastructure engineering, or related roles.
Proven experience with engineering and operations of Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other database technologies, preferably in large-scale environments.
Strong experience in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Shell scripting.
Proficiency in automation tools such as VRO, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
Solid understanding of cloud infrastructure, preferably on AWS or VMC.
Excellent knowledge of networking, storage, and virtualization technologies.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a production environment.
Proven ability to drive automation initiatives and implement best practices.
Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple priorities simultaneously.
Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) would be a plus.
Experience in adopting SRE practices and implementing DevOps methodologies is highly desirable.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience with CICD processes
Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Solution Architect, AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, or Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
Experience with containerization platforms and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, or Kafka.
Experience with log management and analysis tools like Splunk, ELK stack, or Datadog.
Knowledge of machine learning and AI technologies.
Experience with performance testing and tuning of database and application systems.
Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
Knowledge of compliance frameworks such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, or GDPR.
Strong understanding of ITIL practices and IT Service Management frameworks.
Experience working in regulated industries such as finance, healthcare, or government.
