Background
Digital Business transformation, although important before, has now become critical to survive post COVID19. We know that our engagement with customers going forward needs to be fundamentally different. Hence the need to create a digitally integrated business model providing seamless online customer journeys has become a non-negotiable. In the new normal, digital transformation is the only way to “do more with less” so, the acceleration of our digital roadmap is a top priority to ensure our business maximises its true value and succeeds in the future.
To drive growth in a post COVID world, Unilever F&R has launched project “Aurora” to create a combined food solutions (UFS) and Out of Home (OOH) Ice cream organization called “Away from Home (AFH)”.
The growth opportunity arising for the combined ‘Away from Home (AFH)’ encompasses not only the cross selling of our wider portfolio to current OOH IC and UFS customers, but also reaching new channels and operator groups as a result of a much stronger go to market organization, maximizing channel expertise of each team and offering the best customer experience ahead of competition. A digitally integrated ecosystem will be critical success factor for this growth ambition.
Main Purpose of the Job:
Although having pockets of excellence in many aspects of digital (UFS.com, IC Now, digital marketing, etc), the OOH IC and UFS legacy businesses are still based on a non-integrated data environment. That means, for UL, we still rely on manual work even to find and monitor our basic areas of opportunity, such as common/overlapping customers, single buying customers, and the identification of new potential customers.
In the AFH world this will be replaced by an integrated data platform which will seamlessly connect with all digital systems (CRM, eRTM, Marketo) of our go to markets (GTM) operations. This will mean data will be seamlessly flowing through different customer’s touch points such as social media, webpages, apps, newsletters, sales systems (UL or 3rd parties), etc routed via data platform. This will result in an end to end integrated customer experience.
The purpose of this role is to own the roadmap of the data platform that would enable the digital selling agenda of Unilever food solutions (Nutrition) business and be accountable of the delivery of the data platform
Key accountabilities:
Accountable for delivering data foundation for products
Owns the data delivery timelines in the overall product build plan
Ensures readiness of data and flags risks to product leadership team as required
Defines the scope of data remediation activities and activates necessary resources for on time completion.
Leads the resolution process for any data related challenges to meet product milestones. This includes working with broader data COE and solution factory teams to define a clear roles and responsibilities matrix and driving that on ground.
Leads the data governance for product related data and activates it by working with broader data COE organization.
Works with central data quality team in data as a platform program to ensure automated checks are built for monitoring and control.
Bring the data strategy to life by working with the BDL & Solution Factories to ensure project deliverables are appropriately costed & scheduled in-line with project expectations
Owns the data platform roadmap and ensures maximum standardization across similar markets.
O wn products developed in BAU and work with the D&A Market teams/ Solution Factory to ensure DevOps requests are appropriately managed, budgeted and delivered
Experience, skills and qualifications required:
M.B.A. or Post graduation in a relevant field (Business Analytics, Operations Research)
Overall experience of 8-10 years preferred with deep knowledge on digital analytics
Strong track record of working with senior business leadership (VPs+) to drive definition, alignment, and support for application of analytics and data to address complex business issues
Business intimacy with the trade promotion management
Working knowledge of Azure data lake related technologies
Working knowledge of data modelling and architecture
Proven experience in designing & landing digital analytics capabilities
Ability to drive multiple internal and external stakeholder connects while holding relevant teams accountable for commitments
Product design thinking experience to be able to translate the business requirements into a D&A product which leverages from Data & Technology to help deliver the business strategy
Exposure to creating & landing business change management
Ability to communicate complex quantitative insights in a precise and actionable manner
Ability to manage multiple products at different stages of lifecycle
Deep understanding of data landscape & data management principles Project mgmt. skills and ability to synchronize the planning & delivery of the D&A product with the delivery of the business strategy
Ability to manage multiple requests and priorities simultaneously in a highly VUCA and competitive market Agile mindset and ability to plan the D&A product roadmap via consecutive Releases which align with key business needs.
