Business operations individuals work on niche areas of the industry like incentive compensation, call planning, meetings and events, process automation using rpas, customer centric marketing, forecasting, master data management, value and access, r&d, and marketing operations to develop efficient processes and drive effective operationsThese individuals are trusted problem solvers and client connectors.
Business operations consultant: during their career at zs, the individuals will get a chance to work on a variety of projects which can be largely be classified into the following categoriesEach specialization applies some unique skillsets to manage our clients’ business operations programs.
Ops analytics: designing and executing analytic techniques to address business problemsSynthesize and communicating results to clients and zs teams through oral and written presentationsAbility to think through a solution by assessing business impact to existing and downstream systemsKnowledge of domain and analytical techniques/tools would one of the important skills required for these projects data & technology: establishing a best-in-class incident, release, and change management processes to enable business insights, and capability adoptionEnabling an effective ad-hoc management process and ability to think through a solution by assessing impact to existing systemsData and domain knowledge would be important for success in these type of projects
Process transformation: operations management to achieve process transformation along with operations optimization through process mapping, operations evaluation techniques and automation, along with advising internal and external teams on ways to improve operations
Roles and responsibilities
Business operations consultants (bocs) manage key work streams that support our clients` business processes and operations, manage teams, project planning, and client communicationThey solve complex problems, proactively develop best practices for operating and optimizing business processes, and plan to accomplish work duties for self and team members within required timelinesAs a boc, you will:
Conceptualizes the client issue, leverages previous experience & research to design the best solution
Makes good decisions regarding process design, data model, and technology solution to solve problems
Manages large teams across offices and coordinates multiple work streams to produce high-quality results
Mentors, coaches and guides associates, associate consultants in the team, often across multiple offices and ensures effective communication within the team
Shapes and delivers necessary written materials to support project and team communication
Understands client operating business rules, data, and standard operating procedures
• ensures analyses / processes are rigorous and thorough to uphold delivery quality • identifies potential opportunities for process improvement in client processes (process evaluation, maturity assessment and automation & optimization)Explores new tools, techniques, working models to improve design and improve processes
Establishes oneself as a trusted thought partner for the clients
Develops deep expertise in the practice area/analytical tools and applies it to deliver high quality project work
Manages client relationships to ensure long-term strategic partnerships
Participates in the business and strategy developmentHelps to maintain pipeline of new business by delivering high-quality results that set up follow-on selling opportunities
Works on multiple client engagements, strengthening analytic and project management skills
Develops business story telling skills
Qualifications:
Zs welcomes candidates with a bachelors/master’s degree in technology or engineering and an mba, plus 4-5 years of prior project management experience in technology or operationsIn lieu of an mba, 5- 8 years of relevant work experience may substituteIn addition to a strong academic record of analytic and quantitative work, typically demonstrated through consistent top marks in university, we seek individuals with the following personal skills:
